Things Happen for a Reason
Things happen for a reason. In this incident where I’m going to tell has shown the values and delivered the message of Avalokitesvara, Bodhisattva, and the Buddha states:
“ …because it is beneficial, it belongs to the fundamentals of the holy life, it leads to disenchantment, to dispassion, to cessation of suffering, to peace, to direct knowledge, to enlightenment, to Nirvana. That is why I have declared it.”
(2009 April 30, Kuala Lumpur) It was happened on the first day of a Beauty and Health seminar, and witnessed by nearly 30 peoples who attended for the seminar. It was conducted by Mahaguru Ng, himself.
He started with the topic about interrelation of universe life force and human living. After nearly an hour, one of the attendees was intended to leave the hall, but as soon as she walks towards the entrance door, she stumbles. At that moment, Mahaguru Ng was mentioning about the evolution of human cells and fetus; he said, “because of our parent’s Love, we came to this world…” She was attracted by the topics and decides to stays and returned to her sit. After the seminar, she came forward to Mahaguru Ng, and told him on her friend’s critical situation because she believes Mahaguru Ng able to help her friend.
And so, she told Mahaguru Ng about her friend problems. She has a friend who went through abortion five years ago; she was too young to raise a child that time and have no choice but to abort. She was now married and seven month pregnant, that is when things started to happen. The restless spirit of the aborted child came back because it felt it was abandoned by the mother, with no love and no cares, living fearfully and restlessly in the darkness spiritual world. The spirit become fierce and wanted to revenge towards the mother, and when the mother is 7 months pregnant, the spirit began to disturbed. After listened to the problem, Mahaguru Ng agreed to meet the family of the restless child on the last day of the seminar, with hope to help the family and enlighten the child.
Since then, Mahaguru Ng prays for the child in front of Avalokitesvara and begged for forgiveness for the mother of the child for her mistakes and her regret on abandoning the child of her own five years ago, and let it suffers too much in the spiritual world. With the guidance of Mahaguru Ng, the mother everyday pray for the child and asking for forgiveness on her mistakes and blessed her child to be enlighten and re-birth to a loving family. Mahaguru Ng has guided the restless child to release from suffered in hatreds and forgiving its mother.
Before the mother gives birth, the child came and meet the parents ask for forgiveness and told them that avalokitesvara had help release him in suffer and he will be rebirth again. 2 months after the incident, the mother gives birth to a healthy baby, also the brother of the child. In order to return thanks to Mahaguru Ng, the spirit of the child has waited him in his house to invite him to come for the brother’s full moon ceremony, three days before he received the invitation card from the family. On the day of the ceremony, the spirit of the child came and tell its family that it will soon leave and to be re-birth. The family was glad that the child finally enlightens and no longer living suffered in the spiritual world.
Things happen for a reason, and the reason that what makes things happen is the cause and effects (karma) we did in previous, in present and for the future.
In Buddhism, we believe in karma, according to Upajjhatthana Sutta (AN 5.57), the Buddha states:
"I am the owner of my karma. I inherit my karma. I am born of my karma. I am related to my karma. I live supported by my karma. Any karma I create, whether good or evil, that I shall inherit."
Namo amitabha.
